A native of Los Angeles, Devin Crane's background is as diverse as the city he calls home. Devin has been a professional in the film industry for the past 15 years, lending his dynamic talents to Oscar nominated films such as Shrek 2 and the acclaimed Iron Giant.
The last 5 years Devin has shifted his artistic efforts to painting and exhibiting internationally. "I think my background in film gives my paintings a different edge. I want the images I create to stay with the viewer long after they leave my exhibit."
Devin Crane's work captures the human condition giving his audience stolen moments that they can all relate to. His exaggerated forms, features, dynamic color and fashion pull in the viewer demanding a second look. Devin loves to incorporate fashion into his work. "The work of the great fashion designers of the past and present continue to inspire me." Dior, Lagerfeld and Valentino are amongst Devin's fashion heroes. Many of the dresses in Devin's paintings are his own designs.
His work has been featured in articles such as; Palace Costes Magazine, Voci Magazine, Casemate Magazine, Fluide Glamour Magazine, Juxtapose Online, Forbes, Imagine Magazine, and the I Am 8 Bit book.
Devin's work can be found in private collections across the globe from Los Angeles, Texas, Boston, Atlanta, Miami, New York, Hong Kong, Rome, Mougins, and Paris.
This past May 2010, Devin mounted a hugely successful solo exhibition in Paris, France held at Gallerie Arludik on the I'lle Sanit-Louis.
